Caribee was built in 1976 by Cape Yachts Ltd in Hong Kong, using hand laid GRP construction.Caribee was built for the managing director o0f Cape Yachts, and for the first 20 years was principally used as a day cruiser in Hong Kong waters. The Cape Carib 33 was a popular yacht in Hong Kong and was raced in its own class. In 1986 Caribee completed the offshore race between Hong Kong and San Fernando in the Philippines, some 650 miles away.

The current owners are the fifth, and the first to cruise aboard her. She was refitted in 1996 in preparation for her recent 18 month cruise. This include the installation of new electronic navigation equipment, liferaft and safety equipment.. The electrics were renewed and the engine overhauled.
The standing rigging was renewed and the cosmetic appearance was upgraded.

From January 1997 to July 1998 she crossed the South China Sea, the Indian Ocean , the Red Sea and into the Mediterranean where she is now.

She has recently had a total re varnish of the interior, a service on the engine and a repainting of the topsides and deck.
Caribee is a strongly built boat suitable for world cruising, in fact the best of both worlds as she has a large cockpit which also makes her great for local cruising.
