S/Y Sume

is a Classic Vindo

Built by Vindo Marin AB. Henan in Sweden in 1974

Sume has been in her present ownership since 1983. She has been very well maintained and is in excellent condition.The Vindo Yacht is a very strong and well balanced little ship, and a very high quality of craftsmanship has gone into her construction. She is truly a classic cruiser of delightful appearance.

Her Construction is: White G.R.P. Hull, mahogany sides to the coach roof,with a white G.R.P. surface. She has a long keel, encapsulated lead ballast with a keel hung rudder.
Tiller steering, stainless steel rails with PVC coated lifelines, Teak hand and cap rails,
S/S pushpit and pulpit, self draining cockpit, Teak decks and teak seats in the cockpit(renewed 1993).

The engine is a Volvo 25hp MD2B and is located under the companionway. It was reconditioned in 1994. There is a shaft drive to a fixed 3 bladed propeller.
Morse engine controls and 70 litres of fuel capacity.Complete engine monitoring equipment.

She has a cruising speed of about 5.5 knots with a fuel consumption of about 1.5 litres per hour. The engine has been regularly maintained.

There are two 12v batteries in two banks. Separate charging of engine start, and domestic system

She is a sloop rig with gold anodised aluminium mast and boom. She has Spinnaker pole, S/S standing rigging and slab reefing to the main sail. She has 2 Lewmar 25 two speed winches and two Anderson halyard winches, also double forestay rigging. Her sails are 2 mainsails,1 Genoa, 1 jib,1 storm jib and a spinnaker. All are in good condition

Accommodation

Sume has 5 berths in two cabins and all her joinery is to the highest standard.The head is a Marex marine. There is a freshwater capacity of about 160 litres which supplies a stainless steel sink in the galley and head basin. In the galley there is a calor gas cooker with 2 burners. Nice chart table. All her upholstery and curtains were redone in 1994.

She has a Binnacle compass,clock and barometer,,Wdo log,Seafarer 501 echo sounder(1993), Radio direction finder, and deck level and masthead navigation lights.

She has also 1 emergency beacon, a foghorn,radar reflector and various flares (not guaranteed to be in date). She also has 2 manual and 1 electric bilge pumps.

Sume had epoxy treatment for the prevention of osmosis to the hull in 1995.
She is VAT exempt, with full paperwork to prove it.
